BIOGRAPHYDonald R. Cooper, professor at Florida Atlantic University, teaches research methods, statistics, and organizational behavior. A faculty member since 1976, Cooper has taught undergraduate, MBA, executive MBA, corporate on-site MBA, MPA, and doctoral courses in business and public administration. He also served as the associate dean of the business school, director of the public administration doctoral program, and director of a research center. Cooper's Ph.D. is from Kent State University. He has received several teaching awards, most recently from the College of Architecture & Urban and Public Affairs. Cooper is also the principal of Cooper Research Group, a customer satisfaction and market research consultancy. CRG helps companies understand their customers' satisfaction with products and services, their marketplace, and their competitors. CRG concentrates on high-tech industries -- principally electronics and computer companies. While on leave of absence in Paris from 1989-1992, Cooper created IBM's customer satisfaction program for Europe, while reporting to the general manager of the Personal Systems business. He continues to assist IBM with customer satisfaction projects in various geographies around the world. Cooper is currently providing senior management with brand and service/repair analysis. Other clients are in the travel industry, heavy manufacturing, banking, and federal, state, and local government. The sixth edition of the text, Business Research Methods, (Irwin/ McGraw-Hill) was released in December 1997. It was the first comprehensive business research textbook in the '70s and, now enhanced with the efforts of co-author Pamela S. Schindler, remains a market leader. |
